I have made my registration to participate in another swap powered by Quilting Gallery. I really enjoyed the last swap and it was very good to know that my partner liked the bag. I haven't recived mine yet but we are not over the deadline! This one is a fall swap and is to be delivered until January 2010 and the partner info is released in the end of October. You can have more info here. I'm not sure what i'll be making but i think i'll wait to know who is my partner and chose a project according to her style. I think this swap is a great oportunity to make a small project that otherwise i wouldn't be doing, like a small block or a hanging in the wall quilt. I have never done anything like this and i am always tempted to make really big quilts like my Summer Days Quilt. As this is a small quilt it's easier to do. I'm thinking in hand piecing and hand quilting it. Thanks to Karen, who is such an inspiration and was so gentle to make recently a post about her hand piecing technic, i have started to hand piece my Summer Days Quilt and is with a bit of surprise that i realise that my quilt is growing up faster then it was with the sewing machine. Here are the reasons why: I don't have a sewing room so each time i want to sew i have to arrange my dinner table for it, and i have to get the sewing machine and all the other tools, and when i'm finish i have to put it all away again, with hand piecing a have more time to dedicate to my quilts because i don't have to improve a sewing room each time i want to quilt, it's like making an embroidering or knitting, and i can do it on my sofa near my family and the last reason is that when i hand piece i draw the seam line in the fabric and my seams are always perfect, with my machine sometimes i have to undone the same seam over and over again until i can make it rigth because i get laisy and use the machine feet as a seam guide (i think i trust to much on my machine and sometimes we seem to speak diferent languages!) I'm even thinking in hand quilting my Summer Days Quilt as i did with the baby Caroline Quilt!
