A few months, Mafalda’s school issued a challenge to all parents of all children. Each classroom (2 years and 1 year) had a goal and parents who have children in the two classrooms had to meet two objectives. For Mafalda’s classroom the aim was to write a story, with no more no less then two pages, appropriate to their age.
The jury was composed by the director, the teacher's room and the auxiliary.
The prize was this sweet, a little book with draws of all the kids from her classroom.
I participated with the story "The Magical Tent." Anyone who knows me knows I like to write, I write even when I have neither pen nor paper, I write in my head to myself, and when I have time and space i write all those words somewhere.
But this story was different, it was hard to write for children, even over so small. It was hard to find a thread from beginning to end to result in a story with legs and head, but light and fun and not moralistic. It was also difficult to choose words and construct simple sentences that could be easily understood and accepted by children of two years.
Well, it was a contest and i won the prize. But best of all this was the joy and brilliance of Mafalda's eyes when we brought home a gift that all children of her classroom made to her mother. After all is not every day that all the kids in your classroom makes draws to offer to your mother. Only by this smile and this look was worth it.
But was not only the story that came out of the cauldron of ideas. After i have written I started thinking that this story would resulted in a good children's book, and decided to make an offer to the end of the school year to school. Now this book is being processed but I leave you with an idea, is made in wool and felt with applications of several beads.
