O Quit Top da manta de passeio está pronto e já montei tudo a postos para quiltar. Escolhi um padrão diferente para o Quilt com uma cercadura com flores ligadas por linhas curvas e o restante fundo preenchido com flores de tamanho médio.

Ontem quis começar a quiltar e montei o novo calçador de quilt livre na máquina mas não me ajeitei nada com aquilo :( Acho que fiz tudo tal como era suposto a até pus a peça que tapa os feed dogs (não sei como se diz em português tenho de consultar o manual da máquina!) mas houve qualquer coisa que falhou, não sei se foi a velocidade... Vi um video de uma senhora a quiltar em estilo livre e parecia mesmo fácil e com motivos ainda mais pequenos. Estes são médios mas não consegui de forma nenhuma fazê-los bem. Ainda por cima não dá jeito nenhum num trabalho desta dimensão. O que vi no video era mais pequeno do que um fat quarter logo também é batota! Seja como for não me saía. Também não sabia ao certo como regular a tensão da linha e os pontos estavam a ficar pequenos e esquisitos. Depois avancei para o walking foot mas para curvas esquece lá isso! Ainda ficou pior. Depois tentei o calçador normal e também não gostei.

The Quilt is ready to be quilted and i design a quilting border pattern with smoth curved lines connecting round simple flowers. The rest of the background is filled with the same simple flowers with two diferent sizes. I installed the Big Foot presser feet in my sewing machine and i started to quilt in free motion but something went wrong as i couldn't control the dam thing! It was awful. The stiches were to small and strange, didn't look like the regular ones. I'm almost sure i put it rigth as i even covered the feed dogs. I don't now if this a just a matter of sewing speed i'm not sure about the line tension either. I saw a video with a free motion demo and it looked so simple. But to me was a nigthmare! Then i tried the walking foot but that thing is note suitable for curved lines! It was even worst! And then the regular feet and wouldn't get any better!

E por fim, vencida pelo cansaço, resolvi fazer à mão. Os primeiros pontos detestei, a agulha não era a melhor e eu já me estava a passar. Mas depois tentei com outra agulha noutra parte do trabalho e simplsmente adorei! Está a ficar lindo e muito diferente do ponto da máquina. Mas acho que para o desenho de quilt que escolhi é o mais indicado. Surepreendentemente não me pareceu assim tão lento de fazer mas é claro que o ponto ainda está um bocadinho irregular. Fiquei fã do quilt à mão até porque fazê-lo no sofá é bem mais confortável! Se não tivesse tão apertada com o tempo havia de dar a volta ao quilt livre na máquina. Não me dou por vencida mas agora quero acabar isto e depois ataco-o até o dominar! Alguns conselhos para isto?

In a moment of despair i dicided to hand quilt it. At the begining i did't like the result as my stiches were irregular. But then i changed my needle and started in another part and i simply loved it! It looks quite different from the machine stiches but i think it suites best in this quilting pattern i design. I thought it would take more time but it's quite quickly to stich and i can do it in my couch! If i had more time i kept insisting in the big foot until i make it work but for now i want to get this thing done in time for the baby birth. But i will make the dam thing work, sooner or latter it will work! Any advice on this?
