Almofada das alianças! Wedding ring pillow

Aqui está ela! É suficientemente grande para não fugir das mãos da Mafalda e segura para levar as alianças sem incidentes! O tecido é o mesmo que usei nos convites, Flight of the dragonfly by Kona Bay.

Optei por uma almofada redonda porque é diferente do normal e porque me pareceu mais simpático para ser transportado por umas mãos tontas como as da minha Mafalda.

Here it is! It is large enough not to escape from the hands of Mafalda and safe to carry the wedding rings without any incident! The fabric is the same I used in my wedding invitations, Flight of the Dragonfly by Kona Bay. I chose a round cushion because it is different from normal, and because it seemed easier for Mafalda to carry it.

A almofada em si é até bastante simples. São apenas duas rodelas de tecido cosidas e depois de enchida e rematada é estreitada ao centro de onde depois saem estas fitas. As alianças ficam atadas em duas das fitas e as outras duas ficam soltas. Complementei com uma fita de pequenas bolinhas douradas que ajuda a compor a almofada dando-lhe um ar mais de cerimónia. De resto o tecido faz tudo! Foi bem escolhido!

The pillow itself is quite simple. It's just two slices of fabric sewn together and then filled. I narrowed the center from where these ribbons come out. The wedding rings will be tied in two of the ribbons and the other two are loose. I complemented the pillow with this ribbon of small golden balls that helps to frame the pillow giving it a more ceremonial look. Besides the fabric does it all! It was well chosen!

 A fita larga tem uma mistura de roxo no meio do dourado. Foi um achado. Para estas coisas não há melhor do que ir à Botilã, na praça da Figueira, na Baixa Lisboeta! Levem é uma boa dose de tempo e uma extra de paciência, e se souberem do que estão à procura tanto melhor, que aquela retrosaria não funciona a olhar para escolher.

The larger ribbon has a mixture of purple with the gold that works just fine with this fabric.

E por fim o remate de baixo. Um botão de pé de onde sai um fio fininho, também em dourado com uma pérola em cada ponta. A foto não é das melhores mas o meu modelo não quis colaborar mais. Até porque tudo o que implique ficar parada e quieta por mais do que 5 segundos não é para ela.

At bottom of the pillow I sewn a botton, one of those with a litle foot. The botton has a litle gold chain with a white pearl in each end. The foto isn't great but Mafalda wouldn't stay still!   

Wedding Invitations... Convites de Casamento

Organizar um casamento tem muito que se lhe diga, e uma das coisas mais dificeis é fazer com que o casamento seja "nosso", reflexo de quem somos, dos nossos gostos particulares e das coisas que nos unem enquanto casal.

Encontrar o sitio ideal não foi dificil, temos uma ideia semelhante daquilo que queremos para o casamento.

Dificil foi mesmo encontrar o modelo certo de convite de casamento, original mas suficientemente formal, que pudesse ser feito por nós mas mantivesse a elegância e distinção do momento a que se destina, e que fosse aquele convite que as pessoas olhasses e dissessem, é mesmo deles.

Vai daí que depois de muitos testes e experiências o resultado chegou com o nivel de satisfação que se pretendia.

Organizing a wedding has a lot to be said, and one of the hardest things is to make it  a reflection of who we are, our particular tastes and the things that unite us as a couple.

Finding the perfect place was not hard, both of us have a similar idea of ​​what we want for our wedding.

But the wedding invitation sure was hard to find! We wanted the perfect wedding invitation: unique but sufficiently formal, that could be done by us but kept the elegance and distinction of the moment, and that was THE invitation that people would look and say, yeah it's all them.

And so after many tests and experiments we got the formula and reach the level of satisfaction that was intended.

A frente do envelope. Fita de tule dourado e flor de tecido (fuxico de 5 pétalas), centro da flor em esferovite pintada e forrada a tule. Os nomes dos convidados são escritos à mão, também a dourado com uma caneta da Sakura que é absolutamente viciante de tão interessante que é.

 O convite propriamente dito. No total tem 6 camadas: cartão, tecido, entretela, cartão, entretela e novamente tecido. O tecido de fora é um Kona Bay da colecção Flight of the Dragonflies, tem uns contornos dourados em alguns pontos das flores e é simplemente magnifico. Tem as minhas cores! Não podia ser mais meu, o lado dele é a sobriedade com que o resto do convite está elaborado. O convite tem vários tipos de letra diferentes, um para os nomes dos pais, outro para a fraze intercalar e algumas palavras de texto, uma para o nosso nome, e outra para a localização, hora e dia do casamento, bem como para os nossos contactos. Dá-lhe um ar jovem e dinâmico mas mantêm-lhe a elegância sem ser clássico.

The invitation itself  has 6 layers: cardboard, fabric, interfacing, cardboard, interfacing and fabric again. The outside fabric is a Kona Bay from the Flight of the Dragonflies collection, it has a golden outline of the flowers on some points and is simply magnificent. It has my colors!  The invitation has several different letter  fonts, one for the parents' names, one for the middle fraze and for a few words of text, one for our names, and one for the location, time and day of the wedding, as well as for our contacts. It's gives a young and dynamic look but keep it elegant without being too classic .

 As costas do convite são de um tecido roxo, ligeiramente manchado em tons alternadamente mais claros e mais escuros que lhe confere um dinamismo prórprio e permite um acabamento exemplar do convite.

The back of the invitation is a purple fabric, slightly stained in tones alternately lighter and darker giving it a dynamic finishing.

Agora multipliquem isto por 60 convites...Now multiply this by 60 invitations

Tenho estado ocupada, tenho, tenho... Até mais logo que só ainda tenho 20 feitos e ainda me faltam... 40!!!!
